Cultural Resources Program PDF Print E-mail
Marron ensures that the appropriate level of cultural resource investigation is conducted for each project. The first step in a culturalCR resource survey involves a Class I site records and literature search of the project domain and surrounding area.
If appropriate, a Class II reconnaissance survey is performed. Cultural resource investigations may conclude with a Class III intensive 100 percent pedestrian survey of the project Area of Potential Effect (APE). We coordinate with our clients during projects, particularly if areas of concern are identified during investigations. Marron also routinely prepares historic cultural property inventory forms for projects.

Cultural resource investigations and reports adhere to the NHPA; the New Mexico Prehistoric and Historic Sites Preservation Act; the New Mexico Cultural Properties Act; and other federal, tribal, and state laws and regulations. Marron also verifies that Traditional Cultural Property consultation is completed. Marron holds the New Mexico State Land Annual Archaeological Survey Permit; the New Mexico Burial Excavation Permit; the Navajo Nation Historic Preservation Department General Cultural Resources Permit; the New Me
Cultural
xico BLM Survey Permit (for all areas except Dinetah for the BLM); the BIA New Mexico general survey permit; and permits for the Carson, Cibola, Gila, Lincoln, and Santa Fe National Forests in New Mexico.
